THE VACANCY
This recruitment is open and promotional, meaning all are welcome to apply and current employees in permanent positions are eligible to receive seniority credit and promotional placement once passing all exams.
There is currently one (1) vacancy, working 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 10 months per year (off in summer). Location is currently TBD. This opening requires proficiency in Spanish. This is a bilingual position and the successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in both Spanish and English or Spanish and Russian. The ability to read, write and speak Spanish or Russian fluently is required and will be evaluated during the Qualifications Appraisal Interview (Oral Exam) phase of the recruitment.

BASIC FUNCTIONUnder the direction of assigned Administrator, encourage and coordinate parent education and involvement in various school programs and other activities; perform liaison duties between school and parents at an assigned site; refer families to local agencies or school services as appropriate; maintain related records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in social services, education or a related field and one year experience working in an instructional or social program.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid California driver’s license. Incumbents are required to speak, read and write in a designated second language.

Supplemental Questions: Qualifying
Written Examination (Translation and Multiple Choice): 50%
Qualifications Appraisal Interview (Oral Exam): 50%
The supplemental questions to the application will be reviewed and rated for certification. These questions are required at the time of application and are qualifying.
An eligibility list will be established for successful candidates which will be used to fill open positions during the life of the list. Examinations and interviews held to create the eligible list will be conducted virtually, using different online/internet platforms that require video recording or conferencing capabilities, as well as access to a computer with an internet connection and basic Microsoft Office Suite Software.
The virtual written examination is tentatively scheduled for the week of March 2nd. The virtual Qualifications Appraisal Interview (Oral Exam) is tentatively scheduled for the week of March 9th. You will be contacted via email, as indicated on your application, regarding your ability to participate in the examination phase of this recruitment.

REPRESENTATIVEDUTIES
- Promote parent education and involvement in various school programs and other activities; provide information and materials to parents to assist them in utilizing community services and resources; conduct assessment screenings as assigned and refer families to local agencies or school services as appropriate; maintain related records.
- Perform liaison duties between school, community resources and agencies and parents at an assigned school site; communicate with parents regarding student performance including attendance, behavior, academic achievement, health and medical problems; make home visits to acquire information and discuss school-related problems such as absenteeism, illnesses, behavior problems and other matters.
