The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants

for the  school year

for the openings for:

Fifth Grade Math and Science Teacher

Qualifications:

Must have a degree in Elementary Education and appropriate Missouri Teacher Certification

The successful candidate will:

* promote academic language to enhance student understanding.

* proactively plan for student engagement in instruction.

* plan for and facilitate student critical thinking.

* have knowledge of Readers'/Writers' Workshop.

* demonstrate a solid understanding of effective math and reading instruction.

* have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices.

* use formative assessments and data to plan and drive instruction.

* be a proactive communicator with parents.

* successfully collaborate with colleagues.

* demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.

* understand and support School wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS).

* demonstrate a solid understanding of RtI (Response to Intervention)

Length of contract - 179 Days
