Qualifications- Active Sub License in Indiana
- Passed Para Pro test or 60 college credits
- Be able to communicate verbally and in written form
- Have understanding and knowledge of middle school and high school curriculum
40 Hours/Week; 180 school days (snow days are rescheduled)
EvaluationTwice a year by the Alternative Teacher
Compensation$18.90/Hour; $23.90/Hour with Bachelor’s Degree

Job DescriptionThe role of the behavioral facilitator is to assist the lead teacher in the management and instruction of special education students in an alternative classroom setting. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities- Supervises the entering and exiting of students into and out of building daily.
- Maintains a daily classroom schedule of four classes 45 minutes in length.
- Assists with daily student check-in and check-out.
- Presents academic instruction in a small group or one-on-one setting.
- Maintains daily lesson plans for subjects presented.
- Covers team member classes as needed due to absence.
- Maintains summary of student academic and behavioral reports.
- Manages challenging student behaviors.
- Works as a team member to carry out instruction and maintain integrity and safety in the classroom setting.
- Maintains student confidentiality.
- Has knowledge of pertinent student background and health information.
- Has knowledge and understanding of the medical needs of students as well as the emergency procedures for student(s) and worksite.
- Participates in any community-based activity or job supervision.
- Follows all school policies as stated in the GLASS/LSC handbook.
- Demonstrates professionalism, applying codes of conduct to the educational setting.
- Aids in maintaining a clean and healthy classroom by doing small household chores (washing tables, dishes, and assisting with student free/reduced lunch program).
- Maintains clean and organized student work areas.
- Carries out other duties as assigned by teacher or administrator.
