Mountain View Whisman School District is looking for Tutors for our Beyond the Bell after-school program. Programs run at elementary and middle school sites. Tutors are exceptional role models who work on homework with students, build positive relationships, run enrichment activities and help build a sense of community in the after-school program.

What are we looking for?- Current college student with a minimum of 2 years of college experience or NCLB compliant

This is a part-time, after school position during the academic school year. BTB Tutors can work anywhere from 17-19 hours per week between the times of 2:30-6:15pm and 12:30-6:15pm on minimum days.
BTB Tutors will attend weekly and monthly meetings.
Ongoing Duties May Include- Support day to day operations of program in collaboration with on site staff creating a high energy, fun and creative experience for participants (which include enrichment activities, spirit weeks, planned out themes, and running active games)
- Work alongside BTB Academic Site Liaison to support group management and instruction during program
- Active facilitation of lessons planned for youth development in: academic enrichment, social skill development, health, cultural competency, inclusion and asset building.
- Establish daily communication with parents regarding program attendance, homework, and behavior
- Maintain confidentiality of staff, students, and family situations (This could include mandated reporting)
- Regularly check‑in with teachers and principal regarding questions or issues with students
- Ensure classrooms and facilities are well maintained
- Coordinate and attend field trip throughout the year
- Perform related duties as assigned
