Job Summary

Basic Function: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of severely handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Certificate: This position requires the SCOE Para Proficiency Test certificate or other qualifying document: NCLB/ESSA certificate, CBEST, or transcripts showing 48 college units or AA Degree or higher. Attach a copy to your application.
  • Notes: The following are NOT required at the time of application but will be required if offered employment:
    Department of Justice Fingerprint clearance;
    Tuberculosis Clearance;
    Drug Screen clearance;
    Original signed Social Security Card with current name on it (for payroll purposes);
