Location: Louisiana
Summary
This position is located at Fort Polk, Louisiana with MWR Youth Sports and Fitness. The Program Associate Instructor will instruct Gymnastics.
Duties- Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program. Provides individual and/or group lessons to participants. Offers less structured activities for parents/children.
- Coordinates work schedules with Instructional Program Specialist. Develops individual and group lesson plans. Tracks participants' accomplishments, goals, effort, and evaluations appropriate for age and type of instruction.
- Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of program participants. Observes and evaluates developmental level and records progress.
- Continually reviews instructional sessions and plans for appropriateness. Observes participants for signs of illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed.
- Plans and conducts special events for parents designed to promote the program and encourage parent involvement.
- Direct deposit and Social Security Card required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Successfully complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) and demonstrated on-the-job competency is required.
- Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for health and safety.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal).
- Possess and maintain physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop and stand routinely.
- Health free from communicable disease.
- Demonstrated skill or evidence of competence in instructional gymnastics area.
- Professional certificates/credentials; or associate’s degree/higher with at least 15 semester hours of college credit in instruction area.
- At least 2 years of experience instructing gymnastics.
