The Opportunity

You are a vital interventionist who provides the structured, positive environment where children with diverse learning needs can find their voice and build their foundation.

Role Summary

As an ECSE Aide, you work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team—including teachers, therapists, and specialists—to provide a high-quality intervention program. The focus is on the "whole child," with emphasis on communication skills and social-emotional development. By following specialized instructional approaches and maintaining an organized learning environment, you help our youngest scholars with special needs develop confidence.

Qualifications
  • Educationally Prepared: Must have successfully completed at least sixty (60) college credit hours. Preference given to coursework in Early Childhood or Special Education.
  • Certified Professional: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.
  • Developmental Expertise: Solid understanding of early childhood development and experience with young children.
  • Patient Specialist: Deep sensitivity to the needs of children with autism and other developmental delays.
  • Team-Oriented & Professional: Ability to work well within a team and uphold high ethical standards of behavior and confidentiality.
Your Impact (Key Duties)
  • Individualized Intervention: Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning goals, following the teacher’s approach to provide a consistent experience.
  • Behavioral Excellence: Use a positive, restorative approach to manage behaviors and support emotional regulation and peer engagement.
  • Communication Catalyst: Help create an environment that grows communication and social skills through play and structured activities.
  • Observational Insight: Observe each child to identify triggers and progress, and inform the teacher of important information.
  • Classroom Stewardship: Maintain organization, prepare activities, keep materials clean and accessible.
  • Professional Modeling: Model professional ethics, dependable attendance, and positive interactions for children and families.

  • Primary Support: ECSE Teacher
  • Collaborative Team: Speech Pathologists, Occupational/Physical Therapists, and Building Principals
