Job DescriptionSummer school teachers must be properly certified in the appropriate content area.
Teachers in the summer school program will earn:
Teacher, Nurse, Librarian, and Counselor: $6,120 stipend which includes all pay for teaching, planning, training, setting up rooms, and Open Houses.
Summer School sessions for grades 9-12 will begin as follows:
- Monday through Thursday for 14 days.
- Wednesday, June 3rd – Thursday June 25th
- 7:15am – 4:25pm
- Class Period 1: 7:15am - 11:35am
- Lunch: 11:35am - 12:05pm
- Class Period 2: 12:05pm - 4:25pm
Summer employment is contingent upon enrollment.
Valid Missouri teaching certificate in Physical Education (K–12 or 9–12)
Sports OfficiatingThis course provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge needed to become a certified sports official in three different sports. Instruction is delivered through structured modules, interactive lessons, and engaging activities designed to develop an understanding of the mechanics and philosophy of officiating.
Students will complete comprehension checks at the end of each module to ensure mastery of key concepts before applying them in real‑world settings. The course also includes point‑of‑view video scenarios that allow students to make calls and receive immediate feedback on their decisions and positioning.
In addition to classroom learning, students will apply their skills in practice and scrimmage environments, where they will refine officiating mechanics, improve decision‑making, and gain authentic experience in live game situations.
Education Required- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate in one of the following areas:
- Physical Education
- Health / Physical Education (K–12 or 9–12)
