The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of:
High School Biology Teacher for the School Year
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.
* Experience preferred, but not required.
* Additional Content Certifications (Preferred or Willing to Obtain)
The successful candidate will:
* utilize data to determine learning needs of students and drive instruction.
* work collaboratively with other staff members of the department and building.
* be a proactive communicator with parents and colleagues.
* promote academic language to enhance student learning.
* develop and maintain positive relationships with students.
* clearly communicate how students will be engaged in their classroom. .
* proactively plan for student engagement in instruction.
* use formative assessment to modify teaching.
* display and employ enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning.
* value individual students and differentiate for their success.
* have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices.
* successfully collaborate with team and departmental colleagues.
* demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
* effectively integrate technology to enhance learning.
* plan for and facilitate student critical thinking
* understand and support School wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS)
Length of contract: 179 days
