About us:

Climax Springs R-IV School District is accepting applications for a High School Math position for the  school year. Climax Springs operates on a 4-day school week (TUES-FRI) and is located in the heart of the Lake of the Ozarks. The District has an enrollment of 218 students, Pre-K through 12th grade. There are small class sizes, and the community is supportive.

Primary Responsibilities:

To provide students of the district with educational instruction that will foster and accelerate their academic, intellectual, physical, social, and career development.

Term Of Employment:

Base annual contract per approved school calendar staff days (~163 days).

Compensation:

In accordance with the district-approved certified payscale

Paid Time Off (PTO):

80 hours to be used in increments of full or half. No designation of sick or personal is required.

Evaluation:

All teachers will be evaluated annually by Building Principal, or other supervisors as approved by the Board of Education

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Implements instructional activities that contribute to a positive environment where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and needs.
  • Assists in assessments and changing curricular needs and offers improvement plans.
  • Maintains effective and efficient record-keeping procedures including electronic formats.
  • Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Communicates effectively, orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals regularly.
  • Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Models professional and ethical standards as directed in board policy when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community.
  • Ensures student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Participates in training opportunities as established by administration and Title 1 instructors.
  • Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: following meeting protocol, honoring schedules, and meeting collaborative assignment deadlines.
  • Follows and abides by district-adopted curriculum and pacing guides appropriately, as directed by the district administration.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the teacher evaluation process. This may include occasionally performing work beyond a standard 4 day work week when workload requires.
  • Implements district responses to and interventions (RTI) for students who need extra support based on collected data from classroom assessments
  • Supervisory Duties:

    Will be assigned various supervisory positions as deemed necessary.

    Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be willing to learn and comply with district initiatives that involve technical and program skills. Such as but not limited to Student Information Systems (SIS) and online curricula, as well as proficiency with computer-based communication expectations.
  • Ability to define problems, locate and reference District and state-level curriculum and or learning standards, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Present information in an organized and professional manner to students, parents, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret administrative correspondence and directives as well as Board policy and handbooks.
  • Demonstrate computer competency in a wide spectrum of functions.
  • Ability to learn and apply computer technology skills rapidly.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs quickly.
  • Ability to manage basic computer word processing and Google Suites.
  • Ability to provide support for the District inventory and word-processing technology programs.
  • Proficiency with computer-based communication expectations.
  • Keep student information confidential according to FERPA when required by law.
  • Maintain attention to detail as it pertains to this job description.
