The Department of Meteorology and Climate Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including a BS in Meteorology and a BS in Climate Science, and additional minors. The department also offers an MS in Meteorology.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mesoscale and synoptic meteorology.
- Excellence in teaching is expected; appointments may be renewed based on performance, funding, and department need.
- Demonstrate inclusive teaching practices to support a diverse student population.
- Organize classes within the Canvas Learning Management System.
- Deliver courses as scheduled in the assigned mode: asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in-person, or hybrid.
- B.S. in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science with higher‑education teaching experience.
- Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity toward a multicultural student population.
- Ph.D. in meteorology, atmospheric sciences, or equivalent. An M.S. in atmospheric sciences with teaching experience may be considered.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; commitment to student learning and team performance.
Compensation is determined by qualifications and experience. Monthly salary rates for full‑time faculty are provided; part‑time rates are prorated. See University Policy S21‑2 and the Faculty Salary Schedule for details.
