Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting student success as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming  school year. This full-time contract role offers the chance to provide vital communication support, working one-on-one with a 1st grade student in an elementary school setting near Republic, MO. With a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30am to 3:30pm (35 hours per week), you'll play an important part in fostering student access and engagement throughout the academic year.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

• Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience providing interpretation services in a K-12 educational environment strongly preferred
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Skill in facilitating clear, accurate communication between students, staff, and peers
• Ability to build rapport with young learners and tailor interpretation to individual needs
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 1st grade student during classroom activities, assignments, and interactions with peers and teachers
• Support the student's full participation and comprehension across academic and social settings
• Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to ensure accessible learning environments
• Implement communication strategies consistent with best practices in educational interpreting
• Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages student growth and self-advocacy
