POSITION SUMMARY:

The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking an early childhood paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will support early childhood teachers by managing classroom activities, supervising children (ages 3-5) during play, meals, and rest, and reinforcing lessons for individuals or small groups.

They will be responsible for ensuring safety, assisting with personal care (restroom/hygiene), creating educational materials, and maintaining a positive learning environment. Creating a culture of "Everyone Learning Every Day".

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 60 hours college credit or completion of the Para-Pro Assessment Test
  • Pass all background checks and screenings.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Board Policy for Staff Conduct

REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services and Building Principal

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with play-oriented curriculum, sets up learning centers, and reinforces lessons initiated by the teacher.
  • Monitors children in the classroom, on the playground, during meals, and on field trips.
  • Helps students with clothing, toileting, hand washing, and maintains a clean, disinfected environment (e.g., sanitizing toys/cots).
  • Helps with daily routines, such as organizing materials, taking attendance, preparing snacks, and cleaning up.
  • Implements behavioral plans, minimizes disruptions, and encourages positive social interactions.
  • Prepares communication folders, creates materials, and aids with data collection or progress monitoring.
  • Possess patience, compassion, and the ability to connect with young children.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift or transfer students.
  • Strict adherence to FERPA and privacy regulations regarding student information.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • 180.5 days - 8.0 hrs / day (does not include a 30 minute lunch)
  • Pay Range:
    Starting at $17.06 (plus credit for up to 7 years of relevant experience)
  • Benefits include Board paid health insurance, paid sick leave, retirement and other.
EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff.
