Location: Kansas City
Step into a rewarding, flexible contract role supporting special education classrooms as a Paraprofessional in the Kansas City, MO area. This opportunity offers the chance to make a daily impact by assisting students with behavioral needs across 33 schools, primarily elementary, in an engaging and dynamic environment. With per diem scheduling, you can pick up shifts and locations that best fit your routine, all through a user-friendly app.
Earn $24.50 per hour while working as much as 1 to 5 days per week, including potential summer school assignments.
Key
Qualifications:
- Active Substitute or Paraprofessional Certificate from DESE, or in process (must be active prior to start)
- Previous experience supporting students in schools, especially with behavioral needs or BIPs (Behavior Intervention Plans)
- Willingness to assist with toileting and hands-on support as needed
- Ability to pass district-specific fingerprinting before your first assignment
- Comfortable in both one-on-one and classroom aide settings
- Flexible to work across multiple locations and manage different schedules
- Support students and teachers in special education classes, focusing on behavioral and daily living needs
- Implement behavioral intervention plans under teacher guidance
- Foster a safe, encouraging learning environment, supporting both individual and group instruction
- Assist in daily classroom routines, which may include toileting, personal care, and reinforcement of social/emotional learning
- Select shifts via the easy-to-use mobile app, receiving real-time notifications of openings
- Competitive hourly rate of $24.50
