Role SummaryAs a High School FACS Teacher, you will lead a comprehensive program designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global society. You will facilitate a rigorous, hands‑on environment that covers various pathways—such as Nutrition and Wellness, Culinary Arts, Child Development, or Fashion/Interior Design. Working collaboratively with your department and community partners, you will create an inclusive learning experience that prepares students for both college and immediate career success.
QualificationsCertified Professional: Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Family and Consumer Sciences (9-12).
Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required;
Master’s degree, preferred.Industry Insider: You have a passion for current trends in hospitality, design, or human services and love bringing "real‑world" relevance into the lab.
Equity Champion: You are committed to ensuring every student, regardless of background, has access to the life skills and career pathways that lead to economic mobility.
Hands‑On Mentor: You thrive in a "lab-based" environment, managing equipment and student safety with ease while fostering a culture of professional excellence.
Inspire Through Action: Design and lead project‑based lessons that challenge students to solve real‑world problems through cooking, designing, or caregiving.

Collaborate for Success: Partner with your CTE (Career and Technical Education) PLC to align curriculum with industry standards and regional workforce needs.
Utilize Resources: Leverage our district’s unique assets, including professional‑grade kitchen facilities and community partnerships, to provide immersive learning.
Foster Leadership: Support and advise student organizations like FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) to build student confidence and leadership.
Primary Support: Building Principal / CTE Department Chair
Instructional Support: Secondary Instructional Coaches
Classification: Exempt, Certified Staff
Work Year: 10‑Month Academic Calendar (187 Contract Days)
Salary: Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule, determined by experience and education level.
