SummaryThe job of Classroom Teacher is performed to support the instructional process by serving as a teacher responsible for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Collaborate with all stakeholders (students, parents, colleagues) to establish and maintain leadership and positive relationships, focusing on high expectations and continuous improvement for student learning.
- Design instruction (lesson plans, individualized instruction, addressing diverse learning styles/needs) to ensure all students are engaged and participating in learning objectives.
- Develop and guide learning in partnership with students, aligning with state and district standards.
- Evaluate student and class performance using assessment data to adjust instruction for improvement.
- Implement current best practice instruction and resources to enhance student learning.
- Maintain documentation and required reports to comply with site, district, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage classroom structure and procedures to create a positive, safe, and orderly environment.
- Model positive behaviors, promoting appropriate social and interpersonal conduct aligned with district goals.
- Oversee assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support classroom effectiveness.
- Participate in meetings (team, building, professional growth, parent/teacher conferences) to convey or gather information.
- Respond to emergency situations, following protocols for safety and reporting.

Essential Functions / Qualifications / RequirementsEducation and Experience
• Bachelor's degree required. Current Louisiana teacher certification.

Technological AbilitiesProficient in general computer use, email communication, and job‑specific software.
