JOB DESCRIPTION
LIBRARIAN/MEDIA CENTER DIRECTOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate with Certification in Library Sciences
- Experience and high level of competency in technology
REPORT TO: Building principal
PERFORMANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential job skills/knowledge and abilities:
- Plans and implements programs within the media center program
- Participates in the development and implementation of technology throughout the building and district.
- Designs and promotes the LMC and maintains an appealing environment that is conducive to learning.
- Manages the selection, acquisition, circulation, and maintenance of materials and equipment.
- Trains and supervises media center personnel (staff, students, and/or volunteers) to perform duties efficiently.
- Plans budgets, and maintains records according to needs and the objectives of the media program.
- Implements technology and training with teaching staff on techniques that will enhance instructional strategies.
- Demonstrates and teaches effective research skills.
- Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, administrators and parents/patrons.
- Communicates effectively with students, staff, administrators and parents/patrons.
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the building and district.
- Collaborates in the development and /or implementation of the building and district vision, mission, and goals.
- Achieve other assignments as assigned by the building principal.
