Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Instruction & Curriculum: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans covering literature analysis, composition, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Grade assignments, essays, and exams promptly to provide constructive feedback on writing and comprehension.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment conducive to discussion and growth.
  • Student Support: Offer differentiated instruction to support struggling learners and challenge high-performing students.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with English department staff to refine curriculum, and regularly communicate with parents regarding student progress.
  • Professionalism: Participate in professional development to stay current with educational technology and trends.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field.
  • Certification: State-specific teaching certification or license for Secondary English (Grades 9-12).
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, passion for literature, proficiency in classroom technology, and ability to foster critical thinking.
  • Attributes: Patience, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure.
