Grand Canyon University (GCU) seeks a Test Proctor to be based at the Fort Leonard Wood National Testing Center. Hourly Rate: $17.50 an hour.
Location:
In office at Fort Leonard Wood (MO).
- Provide high quality customer service, reception, and accurate intake for all exam candidates at the designated Testing Center.
- Utilize professional proctoring procedures to support a secure exam environment per the center’s protocols.
- Administer and process online exams, department make‑up exams, special accommodation exams, and other external exams as assigned.
- Follow all exam security protocols at all times.
- Maintain credentials necessary to administer any high‑stakes certification examinations, including completing annual qualification exams and maintaining certification by consistently following exam protocol.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment by complying with governing regulatory guidelines, departmental or outside regulatory bodies.
- Troubleshoot basic technology problems affecting exam administration.
- Assist with basic clerical work, data entry, and other support projects as directed.
- Maintain the exam center in a professional ready state, including upkeep of equipment, furniture, and overall condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Flexible work schedule; willing to work evenings and weekends if required.
- Pass pre‑employment background check.
- Demonstrated high‑quality customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and use of Microsoft applications.
- Ability to discern exam‑taking potential violations and report to management when necessary.
- Ability to handle issues when exam candidates need elimination from an exam due to wrongful behavior.
- Compliance with certification requirements based on the designated exam center’s requirements.
- Ability to sit for long periods and escort candidates to and from the testing room.
- Comfortable in a quiet testing environment, able to hear soft voices and see details from a distance.
