Job Responsibilities
Situated in a spectacular rural setting near Shenandoah NP, WCDS has been offering an education in the classical tradition since 1972. All students are required to take Latin in middle school and at least one year of high school Latin, with significant numbers continuing on to AP level. As a small, tightly knit school, our teachers are expected to teach in multiple disciplines if possible.
We are currently seeking a candidate who could pick up a few Latin classes (probably levels 2-3 with opportunities for higher levels in future years) while also teaching a few courses in the humanities, either English Grammar/Composition and/or Literature (probably in grades 7 or
9) or History (a variety of offering available, including Pre-Renaissance Cultures). If the candidate has particular interests or strengths, including lower level math, other pairing are possible. And interest in coaching sports or sponsoring clubs is a plus.
