Substitute Teacher and Paraprofessional positions are paid at a daily rate, equivalent to approximately $15.00–$15.63 per hour, depending on the assignment. Specific pay rates will be shared for each available assignment.
What You’ll Do- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
- Encourage student participation and engagement
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive atmosphere
- Adapt instruction and support to meet individual student needs
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds
- Assist with classroom activities and assignments
- Help ensure students remain safe, supported, and on task throughout the school day
- Have at least 36 college credit hours in any subject OR complete a Missouri DESE‑approved online substitute training program
- Obtain a Missouri Substitute Certificate or Teaching License
- Complete a fingerprint background check (contact Penmac before scheduling this step)
- Successfully complete required Penmac training
