The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic Math Teacher who can move students from “solving for $x$” to “solving for the future.” The teacher will help scholars bridge the gap between abstract theory and real‑world application, ensuring they graduate with the quantitative literacy needed for college and career success.

Role Summary

You will inspire and support students in reaching academic and professional goals. You will deliver high‑quality, standards‑aligned instruction across Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and Calculus. You will implement a rigorous curriculum that prioritizes conceptual understanding and problem‑solving, and collaborate with colleagues and the community to build confidence for a STEAM‑focused global economy.

Qualifications
  • Certified Professional: Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Mathematics (9‑12).
  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Master of Engagement: Ability to make complex concepts like trigonometry or quadratic functions accessible and relevant to a diverse student body.
  • Equity Champion: Commitment to disrupting the “I’m not a math person” narrative, ensuring all students, especially from underrepresented backgrounds, have access to high‑level math pathways.
  • Data‑Driven Instructor: Uses formative assessment data to differentiate instruction, providing the right balance of support and challenge for every learner.
  • Ignite Analytical Thinking: Designs and leads lessons that challenge students to model real‑world phenomena, from financial markets to physics, using mathematical functions.
  • Prepare for the Future: Ensures students are proficient in the standards required for the ACT, SAT, and college readiness, while fostering a love for the beauty of logic.
  • Collaborate for Excellence: Partners with Math PLC to align curriculum, share techniques, and analyze student growth data.
  • Utilize Technology: Leverages graphing calculators, Desmos, and other digital tools to visualize functions and explore complex data sets.
  • Foster Resilience: Cultivates a classroom culture where “productive struggle” is encouraged, building grit for complex problems.

  • Work Year: 10‑Month Academic Calendar (187 Contract Days).
  • Salary: Determined by Teacher Salary Schedule based on experience and education.
