Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide online classroom instruction in the field of Care and Development of Young Children, including child growth and development, developmentally appropriate practices, health and safety, family engagement, curriculum, observation methods, and learning environments for young children.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabus, instructional materials, and learning activities that support student success and meet program outcomes.
  • Identify student learning outcomes; develop processes and tools for assessment; incorporate results to modify instruction and materials in coordination with colleagues.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to address diverse learning styles and support student engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in accordance with college policies.
  • Respond to student emails, questions, and concerns in a timely and professional manner, providing academic support, guidance, and feedback to promote student success and engagement.
  • May teach up to 12 credit hours / semester and up to six credit hours during the summer.
Required Education

The minimum qualifications for the position are a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, Human Development, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, with 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood or a related discipline. Preferred qualifications include experience working in early childhood settings, child care programs, Head Start programs, Pre‑K classrooms, or related educational environments, as well as teaching experience at the postsecondary level, particularly in a community college or similar educational setting.

The candidate must possess basic computer literacy skills, demonstrate the ability to use varied teaching techniques and instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles, and have experience with technology‑enhanced instruction. The ability to provide excellent customer service, multi‑task, and work in a fast‑paced team environment is essential. A successful candidate must be service‑oriented, promote excellence, and demonstrate a commitment to professionalism.
