The Pleasant Hope R-6 School District has a position open for a Middle School Assistant Softball Coach for the  school year.

  Purpose:
  
  Assistant coach will work under a head coach to make sure players, equipment and facilities are well-prepared and organized. Candidates are also responsible for supporting the Head Coach with all assigned duties and coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
• Responsibilities include:
  
  comply with school and school board policies and regulations; care of materials, equipment and facilities; develop and maintain a year round strength and conditioning program; assist in the overall development of all levels of the sport in the community; help with the development and organization of practice programs; perform other tasks as assigned by the principal or superintendent; demonstrate professional growth through camps/clinics;
  
  promote positive interaction with student athletes, the school and community; demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning; demonstrate an interest in student athletes and the overall athletic program; encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students; maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress; develop short and long term goals and work cooperatively with others to accomplish goals.
