One or more temporary, part‑time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027.
DepartmentThe Department of Teacher Education offers the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Art, Dance, English, History/Social Studies, Mathematics (all areas including Advanced), Music, Physical Education, Science (General and Integrated), Theatre, and Languages Other Than English (Chinese, French and Spanish). The department also offers four Master of Science degrees in
Education:
Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, Reading Instruction, and Early Childhood Education. The department, college, and university are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Conduct in‑person and electronic visits to school sites in the East Bay to observe students during fieldwork experiences in preschool–12th‑grade school settings.
- Complete assessment measures documenting each candidate’s mastery of California Teaching Standards.
- Attend virtual supervisor meetings.
- Teach assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online.
- Perform all duties within the state of California.
Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to order of assignment provisions. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Spring Semester: 01/19/27 – 05/12/27
- Master’s degree required.
- Credentialed or equivalent experience in educator preparation.
- Expertise in the content area of the candidate being supervised.
- Recent professional experience in school settings aligning with California’s content standards and reflective of California’s diverse student population.
- Orientation to program expectations, curriculum, assessments, TPEs, and edTPA model.
- Current knowledge of effective supervision approaches such as cognitive coaching, adult learning theory, and content‑specific pedagogy and instructional practices.
