SUMMARY: Reports directly to the building principal. Collect data, analyze, and report findings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help improve instruction by engaging teachers in professional development and data analysis activities
- Evaluate student achievement and assist with placing students in appropriate intervention services
- Observe and coach classroom teachers in effective practices
- Demonstrate lessons which incorporate effective teaching practices, student engagement, differentiated instruction, behavior management, etc.
- Provide sustained mentoring to classroom teachers
- Support building level leadership teams
- Meet regularly with supervisor to report on progress and action plan
- Meet with individual or groups of teachers to plan instruction and/or solve specific instructional and assessment issues or problems
- Analyze students’ work with individuals or groups of teachers, and then brainstorm next steps for adjusting instruction
- Model and co‑teach effective instruction for teachers
- Provide various forms of literacy and/or mathematics professional development for teachers and administrators (large group presentations at staff meetings and on PD/SIP Days to individualized coaching within classrooms) for language arts and/or mathematics
- Connect staff with various forms of available professional development resources
- Participate in district level committees during and outside of the regular school day
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
Master’s Degree or beyond preferred - Elementary, Math, Science, or Comm. Arts certification
- Broad knowledge of instructional strategies and behavior interventions
- Five or more years of classroom experience
- Accomplished in data analysis
- Excellent computer and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability in group facilitation
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Documented professional development above and beyond district/DESE requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedule
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources
Physical Demands
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups
- Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Year: 10 months plus 5 additional days before school starts and 5 additional days after school ends (paid via extra duty contract)
Salary: Range on the District Teacher Salary Schedule. Position Type:
Full‑Time. Salary: $47,073.30 to $72,551.40 Per Year
