Substitute Teacher – McDonald County School District

Penmac Education Staffing is now hiring Substitute Teachers to support classrooms within the McDonald County School District. Substitute Teachers play an essential role in maintaining continuity of learning and providing a positive, safe environment for students when the regular teacher is absent. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want flexibility in their work schedule.

Substitute Teachers have the ability to choose when they work while earning weekly pay and accessing benefit options through Penmac.

• Manage the classroom to encourage participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment
• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and playground areas
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
• Provide in-class and take-home assignments based on the lesson plan

• Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate or Missouri Teaching License
• At least 36 college credit hours in any subject or completion of an approved Missouri DESE online substitute training program
• Ability to complete required training provided by Penmac
• Willingness to submit to fingerprinting and a criminal background check (must contact Penmac before completing this step)

• Paid at a daily rate
