Job Summary
The Paraprofessional supports students with diverse learning needs by assisting in the implementation of individualized learning plans under the direction of the classroom teacher and learning consultant. This position plays an important role in helping students achieve academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success through instructional support, skill reinforcement, behavior intervention, and data collection.
Job Responsibilities- Provide instructional support to assigned students through modified instruction, skill reinforcement, remedial activities, and behavioral interventions.
- Assist in implementing individualized learning plans as directed by the classroom teacher and learning consultant.
- Support students through real-time coaching and encouragement to foster independence and academic growth.
- Collect, document, and report student performance data to support progress monitoring and instructional decision-making.
- Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and supervision as directed by the teacher.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, learning consultants, administrators, and other educational professionals to support student success.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
- Follow established procedures, accommodations, and interventions outlined in student learning plans.
- Participate in training and professional development provided by the school, learning consultant, One Classroom, or other approved resources.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment consistent with Catholic values and school expectations.
- Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional activities as assigned.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth development setting preferred.
- Teaching or instructional support experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to follow directions and implement instructional strategies as provided by teachers and learning consultants.
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning needs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and collect student performance data.
- Patience, flexibility, dependability, and a genuine desire to support student growth and success.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
