The ELA Learning Coach is a classroom teacher who provides instructional support to students, develops and delivers lesson plans, collaborates with peers and administrators, and addresses instructional and classroom issues. The role requires high expectations, continuous improvement, and effective communication with students, parents, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and maintain leadership and positive relationships, focusing on high expectations and continuous improvement for student learning.
- Design instruction (lesson plans, individualized instruction, diverse learning styles/needs) to ensure all students are engaged and meet learning objectives.
- Develop and guide learning in partnership with students (learning goals, strategies, recognition) to improve student learning aligned with state and district standards.
- Evaluate performance (analyze assessment data) to adjust instruction and improve individual and class performance.
- Implement best practice instruction and resources to enhance student learning in alignment with state and district standards.
- Maintain documentation and reports (student data, certification status) to comply with school, district, state and federal regulations.
- Manage classroom structure and procedures (activities, behavioral expectations, positive culture) to create a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Model positive behaviors (professionalism, communication, diversity, respect) to promote appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
- Oversee assistants (assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers) to support effective classroom structure.
- Participate in meetings (team, building, professional development, parent/teacher conferences) to share and gather information.
- Respond to emergencies (school emergencies, safety concerns) to resolve immediate safety issues or refer to appropriate personnel.
- Other duties as assigned related to the position’s functions.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Current Louisiana teacher certification required.
Must be proficient in general computer use, email communication, and other job‑specific equipment, software, and applications.
