St. Ferdinand Catholic School is seeking a reliable and flexible Substitute Teacher to support our PK–8 classrooms. This role involves maintaining instructional continuity in the absence of the regular classroom teacher while fostering a positive, structured, and faith-filled learning environment aligned with the mission of All Saints Academy.
Job Responsibilities- Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher and ensure a smooth continuation of instruction
- Maintain classroom structure, discipline, and a positive learning environment
- Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions, lunch, and recess as needed
- Adapt instruction as needed to meet the needs of PK–8 students across various subject areas
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and Catholic values
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
- Leave clear and detailed notes for the returning teacher regarding the day’s activities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in education or childcare required
- Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels and classroom environments
- Commitment to fostering a respectful, faith-based educational setting
- Must complete all Archdiocesan requirements, including background check and safe environment training
