Caliday Teacher’s Aide

Assist the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school‑age children; implement activities that uphold the Caliday mission, vision and values, providing a safe and learning environment.

• Manage the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Assist in the maintenance of an attractive and informative Parent Table that is updated regularly.
• Implement activities that are age‑appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the Caliday curriculum; manage effective classroom management.
• Assist in the supervision of children during all activities; counsel children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicate effectively with parents, greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintain open and effective communication with the team, parents and school community.
• Ensure the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment are appropriately maintained.
• Identify opportunities and/or problems in the program and work with the School Age Teacher and Program Director to resolve them.
• Maintain yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

• Passion for working with elementary‑aged children and a desire to grow within the childcare field.
• CPR and First Aid training certificate and Basic Health and Safety training certificate.
• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain open and effective communication with parents and the school community.
