High School Math Teacher

A High School Math Teacher instructs students in grades 9-12 in subjects like Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus, focusing on developing theoretical and applied mathematical skills. They create lesson plans, assess student performance, and maintain a safe learning environment, aligning curriculum with state standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development:
    Planning and delivering comprehensive math lessons that align with state standards and school curriculum.
  • Instruction:
    Utilizing diverse teaching methods (lectures, technology, group work) to explain complex concepts in algebra, geometry, and advanced math.
  • Assessment & Evaluation:
    Creating, administering, and grading tests, quizzes, and assignments to track progress and mastery.
  • Student Support:
    Providing one‑on‑one or small group tutoring for students needing extra help or acceleration.
  • Classroom Management:
    Maintaining a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaboration:

    Communicating regularly with parents, staff, and administration regarding student performance and needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in mathematics or education with a specialization in mathematics.
  • Certification:
    Valid state‑issued teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Ability to use digital tools, such as classroom technology, student information systems, and virtual learning platforms (e.g., Canvas, Delta Math).
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong communication, patience, empathy, and organizational skills.
