Teacher Assistant – KVC Academy Cuba - Day Treatment Program
Pay: $18.00-$21.65 per hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM

KVC Academy is seeking compassionate and dedicated Teacher Assistants to support students with special educational and behavioral needs. In this role, you'll work alongside teachers and clinical staff to create a positive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What You'll Do
- Support students in the classroom and during daily activities.
- Assist teachers with instructional and behavioral interventions.
- Help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following requirements:
- Passed the Para Pro Assessment and can provide certification; OR
- Completed the Missouri 20-Hour Substitute Certificate Program and possess, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate; OR
- Completed at least 36 college credit hours and possess, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.
Note:
Employees required to obtain a Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate must do so within 60 days of hire. Failure to obtain certification within this timeframe will result in separation of employment in accordance with Missouri requirements.

- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply policies, procedures, and written instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Basic math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and measurements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when carrying out written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or coursework in education or a related field.
- Experience working with children in educational, behavioral health, or social service settings.
- Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional and behavioral disorders, and child development.
