Jr. High Assistant Track Coach
To instruct students in individual or team sports and sport techniques.
Essential duties include planning programs to promote development of student's physical attributes and social skills, teaching individual and team sports to students, utilizing knowledge of sports techniques and physical capabilities of students, instructing students by lecturing, demonstrating and lecturing on sports topics, explaining and enforcing safety rules and regulations governing sports and the use of exercise equipment, observing students during practice to detect and correct mistakes, explaining score-keeping methods, organizing and conducting competition and tournaments, purchasing, displaying, maintaining and repairing equipment, establishing and enforcing rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible, maintaining discipline, recognizing students encountering medical, physical and/or psychological problems and referring them to district specialists for assistance as required.
Marginal duties include participating in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, mentor programs and teacher training workshops, attending staff meetings and serving on staff committees as required, contributing to the decisions made by the District and building regarding budget, facilities, curriculum and personnel well-being, performing additional tasks and assuming such other responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach.
Evaluation and job performance are conducted by the Head Coach. Supervisory responsibilities include students. Qualification requirements include Missouri State Teaching Certificate preferred, minimum 60 credit hours and Missouri Substitute Certificate.
Physical demands include frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, frequently required to talk or hear, occasionally required to sit.
Mental demands include ability to maintain confidentiality; communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
Environmental conditions include exposed to loud noise levels, regularly exposed to varying inclement outdoor weather conditions for outside activities, this individual may be exposed to potentially hazardous bodily fluids.
