Job Summary

Sacred Heart Catholic School in Florissant is seeking a caring, responsible, and faith‑filled Extended Care Aide to support students during before‑ and/or after‑school program hours. The Extended Care Aide helps provide a safe, structured, and Christ‑centered environment that promotes positive social interaction, responsible behavior, and respectful play while supporting the mission of Catholic education.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during before‑ and after‑school extended care hours to ensure safety and well‑being.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment consistent with Catholic values.
  • Support students with homework completion and quiet study time as appropriate.
  • Organize and facilitate age‑appropriate activities, games, and recreational play.
  • Maintain appropriate behavior management using school‑approved policies and procedures.
  • Assist with student check‑in and check‑out procedures.
  • Communicate concerns, incidents, or student needs promptly to the program supervisor or administration.
  • Collaborate with other extended care staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and follow sign‑out procedures.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and school events as required.
  • Uphold school policies and support the mission and values of Sacred Heart Catholic School.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise multiple students and maintain a safe environment.
  • Dependable, patient, and flexible demeanor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and respect Catholic teachings and traditions.
