Operations Instructor; Nuclear

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Conducts training for licensed, non‑licensed operators and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.

• Administers training programs to ensure availability of qualified and licensed personnel.
• Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
• Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using a systematic approach to training.
• Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.

Minimum education required for the position

• 5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.

Minimum experience required for the position

• Ops Instructor, Non‑Licensed
  :
  At least 3 years of front‑line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction.
• Ops Instructor, Sr
  :
  At least 3 years of front‑line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction – AND current or previously SRO licensed or certified.
• Ops Instructor, Sr Staff
  :
  At least five years of experience in the associated line organization.
  • Desired
    : 3 years previously licensed as PWR SRO.

• Technical proficiency in the assigned area.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
