ResponsibilitiesThe Teacher Education department of Saint Mary’s College seeks to hire a per‑course adjunct to teach the SPED class. Candidates will provide an introduction to assessment, curriculum and instruction, and case management of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and will gain knowledge and skills related to teaching reading (Standard
9), teaching English learners (Standard 10), curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities (Standard 13), and the broad range of services delivery options in K‑12 public schools.
Typical responsibilities include delivering courses in a highly collaborative, culturally diverse, student‑centered teaching environment.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- Background in Special Education (SPED).
- Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education.
- Comfortable in a student‑centered, interactive learning style.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse classroom environment.
- Must reside in California.
Salary: $6,480–$10,308 per course, dependent on qualifications, as specified by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
