High School Biology Teacher

The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of High School Biology Teacher for the  School Year.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate. Experience preferred, but not required. Additional Content Certifications (Preferred or Willing to Obtain). The successful candidate will:

• utilize data to determine learning needs of students and drive instruction
• work collaboratively with other staff members of the department and building
• be a proactive communicator with parents and colleagues
• promote academic language to enhance student learning
• develop and maintain positive relationships with students
• clearly communicate how students will be engaged in their classroom
• proactively plan for student engagement in instruction
• use formative assessment to modify teaching
• display and employ enthusiasm for teaching and expect students to enjoy learning
• value individual students and differentiate for their success
• have knowledge of the current shifts in education standards and practices
• successfully collaborate with team and departmental colleagues
• demonstrate effective classroom management strategies
• effectively integrate technology to enhance learning
• plan for and facilitate student critical thinking
• understand and support School wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS)

Length of contract: 179 days
