Ascension Catholic School, a Catholic middle school committed to academic excellence and the spiritual development of its students, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher. This position requires a dynamic educator who can inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students, integrate Catholic values into instruction, and contribute to a collaborative and faith-filled learning environment.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans for grades 6–8 in Earth, Life, and Physical Science.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture rooted in Catholic values.
- Integrate Catholic teaching and faith-based perspectives into science instruction where appropriate.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Incorporate hands-on activities, labs, technology, and cross-curricular connections.
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty and staff on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
- Participate in school liturgies, retreats, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Uphold and model the mission and values of the Catholic Church and the school community.
Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching credential or license for middle school science (state certification preferred). Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is strongly desired. Practicing Catholic preferred; must be supportive of the Catholic mission and willing to uphold Catholic teachings. Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools for instruction and assessment.
