Position SummarySubstitute teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning. They are responsible for implementing substitute plans as written by the teacher.
Sphere and Scope of InfluenceSubstitute teachers are responsible for supervising students, implementation of the District curriculum and assessment plan, and utilizing resources accordingly.
Essential DutiesSupervise students at all times and/or as directed by supervisor
Supervise events as described above and/or directed by supervisor
Qualification Requirements- 60 college hours minimum (higher preferred). Effective Aug 2020, DESE requirements will accept 20 college hours with additional required training; if you have less than 60 college hours, please contact our central office 2 for additional information.
- Valid Missouri DESE substitute teaching certification required (teaching certification preferred)
- Background Fingerprint check required

Physical DemandsThe candidate should be able to move in and around the classroom, building, District buildings, and campus locations. Consistent attendance as well as general functioning in a school setting.
Mental DemandsThe candidate should have the ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, utilize District resources including District issued technology and programs required to fulfill the essential job duties.
