Overview
Sacred Heart School, located in Rockport, Texas, seeks a dynamic, mission‑driven Principal to lead its PK3 through 5th grade campus. Founded in 1923, the school forms students who are grounded in faith and excel in academics with a strong foundation of Catholic identity and a focus on the whole child—spiritually, intellectually, morally, and socially. The Principal serves as chief administrator and spiritual leader, working in collaboration with the pastor and superintendent to ensure academic excellence, effective school operations, and a robust Catholic identity.
Key Responsibilities- Foster a Christ‑centered school culture through prayer, sacramental life, and ongoing faith formation for students and staff.
- Oversee curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure a rigorous and effective academic program.
- Support and evaluate faculty, fostering a culture of professional growth and instructional excellence.
- Oversee effective school operations, including enrollment, finances, facilities, and campus safety, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources and a safe, well‑maintained learning environment.
- Serve as executive officer to the School Advisory Council, collaborating to support the mission, policies, and long‑term vitality of the school.
- Serve as a visible and collaborative leader, strengthening relationships with the pastor, faculty, families, and parish community.
- Maintain composure under duress and uphold confidentiality as required.
- Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with a commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
- Master’s degree in educational leadership or related field.
- Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a school setting.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Faith‑filled and mission‑driven leader.
- Visionary with the ability to lead a school community forward.
- Strong communicator who builds trust and collaboration.
- Strategic thinker committed to growth and sustainability.
- Must submit to employment‑required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.
- Certification in Safe Environment training, provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources, is required.
- Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures.
