Location: Kearney

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting K5 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as an Elementary Special Education Teacher.

Located near Kearney, Missouri, this full-time contract position begins August 24, 2026, and offers a collaborative, structured environment with a small caseload and significant paraprofessional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized instruction and support for students with ASD
  • Maintain up-to-date programming notebooks and documentation
  • Write and execute IEPs, ensuring compliance and effectiveness
  • Collect and utilize data to inform instructional decisions and behavioral interventions
  • Integrate assistive technology and communication devices, ensuring accessibility for all students
  • Employ visual supports and structured schedules to enhance learning
  • Engage students through research-based strategies and meaningful instructional activities
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and create Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Attend professional development focused on ASD best practices and implement new skills in the classroom
  • Oversee and guide 23 paraprofessionals within the ASD classroom
Caseload Details
  • Serve approximately 811 students
  • Supported by 23 paraprofessionals to ensure individualized attention and classroom support
Qualifications Sought
  • Active Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification or eligible to obtain
  • Demonstrated experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Strong ability to manage classrooms and collaborate with diverse school staff
  • Skilled in adapting instruction to serve a variety of learning needs
