Seeking an excellent high school history (social studies) teacher for the 26-27 school year!

Missouri Torah Institute is all about growth. Students at our small, faith-based high school experience academic, emotional, and spiritual development. Our dedicated staff of exceptional teacher colleagues provides instructional and moral leadership in the classroom, supported by the guidance of experienced and caring administrators, fulfilling our vision of growth for all.

Our ideal teacher candidate has a strong passion for and proficiency in the high school history (social studies) curriculum, a successful track record of teaching at the high school level, and a genuine enthusiasm for education that is driven by the opportunity to work with and support students.

Job Description - Teacher:

  • Preparation of lessons, teaching them, and assessment of students’ progress, aligned with the school curriculum.

  • Supervision of students in the teacher’s classroom (and out of the classroom when directed by school administration), enforcement of school policies, and maintenance of a safe learning environment, in line with the MTI Approach.

  • Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date official school grade books and attendance records.

  • Maintenance of classroom and learning space cleanliness and order to promote learning.

  • Providing written lesson plans, unit plans, and/or summaries of material covered and work assigned to school administrators.

  • Communication with school administration and families regarding students’ progress.

  • Participation in faculty meetings, professional development activities, parent-teacher conferences, and other activities that are part of the school’s educational program.

  • Other specific duties and responsibilities as directed by school administrators to ensure effective onboarding and orientation, and ongoing professional success as an educator.

  • Teachers may be required to teach from outside the school (via distance learning) or may need to teach in school with one or more students who are learning from home, including live (synchronous) learning and correspondence (asynchronous) learning. Teachers should be proficient in using distance learning tools, including (but not limited to) video conferencing and electronic learning management systems (LMS).

  • Teachers play vital roles in school that go beyond classroom teaching. Teachers may be able to assist in other areas, such as teaching a weekly elective class, sponsoring extra-curricular activities, clubs, or study halls, helping with student and school projects, tutoring students out of class, and participating in school events. It is understood that performing these roles will not necessarily earn the teacher additional compensation.

Teachers must agree to undergo a background check.
