Position: After-School Math & Reading Tutor with STEM Activities
Location: Fort Leonard Wood

Ameri Corps members will tutor students in small groups or individually, primarily in mathematics and reading. The members will work with classroom teachers to support at‑risk students using teacher‑directed interventions and program curriculum materials. In addition, ongoing training is provided to ensure the members' success as academic tutors. During the after‑school program, members will provide homework assistance, lead a variety of provided activities connected to core subject areas, fitness, STEM, and/or special‑interest clubs based on student interest.

The members will also be responsible for ensuring the safety and well‑being of students participating in the school program, including logging attendance and assisting with parent checkout.

Member Duties
  • Tutor students in small groups or individually, focusing on mathematics and reading.
  • Work with classroom teachers to support at‑risk students using teacher‑directed interventions and program curriculum materials.
  • Participate in ongoing training to foster success as an academic tutor.
  • Provide homework assistance during the after‑school program.
  • Lead activities such as exploration, project‑based learning, STEM, and special‑interest clubs based on student interests.
  • Ensure student safety and well‑being by logging attendance and assisting with parent checkout.
