Reports to: Administrator as assigned
Job Goal: Provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students can take advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials; assist in developing and implementing a meaningful and well‑organized program for students in writing, word processing, CAI, and program‑based learning through technology.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the full implementation of program guidelines and procedures of the Extended Learning Program.
- Assist staff in the computer lab or computing section of assigned programs.
- Assist students with technology, including but not limited to personal computers, Chromebooks, tablets, multimedia, and project‑based learning.
- Assist with checking, caring, preparing, and arranging instructional materials and equipment; maintain necessary records and files.
- Collaborate with staff and students in planning assemblies and extracurricular activities.
- Work with small groups of children under the direction of a teacher or specialist.
- Participate in service training; assist in other program areas as needed.
- Model personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college training preferred.
- Current Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate and/or criminal background clearance by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, mathematics or readiness programs.
- Experience and desire to work with children.
- Skill and accuracy in oral and written expression.
- Willingness to follow directions.
- Ability to work with adults and children.
- Ability to work in a multiethnic environment.
- Knowledge of computers, word processing, technology, multimedia, and computer‑assisted instruction (CAI).
Salary Range: $20.53 - $33.36 per hour.
