About The Position
The Nuclear Technical Instructordevelops , administers and maintains training programs to support the overall Qualification Programs established at Callaway Energy Center (CEC) and maintains full accreditation for the CEC for their specific discipline, ensuring that the CEC is in full compliance with the requirements for accredited programs under the National Academy for Nuclear Training.
Instructors maximize student learning by providing quality training to maintain and improve worker knowledge and skills and improve plant performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Administer formal classroom training to include:
Classroom, Laboratory/Simulator instruction
Preparation, administration, and grading of examinations
Evaluation of trainee performance
Scheduling and coordinating training course presentations with appropriate department personnel
Support implementation ofan effective and efficient Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) that meets or exceeds industry standards and is institutionalized into plant procedures and processes.
Supportsubject matter experts and vendors providing on-site and off-site training within the appropriate discipline area.
Monitor Condition Reportsand industry trendsfor potentialareas of weakness for Operating Experience applicabilityinto lesson plans.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all training conducted in accordance with applicable procedures and criteria.
Actively participate in training programs to maintain individual qualifications.
Participate in in-plant activities and field timeto maintain required licenses, certifications, and technical proficiency.
Providerefueling outage support for preparations, in-processing training, and/or filling assigned outage position.
Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assignedERO facilities within the required RERP response time.

Knowledge

Possesses working knowledge ofsubject matter in technical area. Learning training program standards.
Job Complexity
-Intermediate skill level for administering training with significant technical area knowledge.
Supervision
-Receives general guidance and supervision on work assignments with more detailed instruction on new assignments.
Leadership
- Provides peer reviews and feedback.
Qualifications
Nuclear Technical Instructor
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityis required.
Two (2) or more yearsofrelevantprofessional orjourney level experience required(relevant experience includesexperience in engineering,experience working in the area of instructional focus, e.g. mechanical, electrical or I&C maintenance or rad/chem, ORexperience as a technical instructorin the area of technical instruction).In lieu of aBachelor'sdegree,arelevant
Associate's Degreeand2additionalyears(4 total) or a High School Diploma and 4 additional years (6 total) oftheaforementioned typesof experiences may be considered.
Previous traininginstructorexperience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training accredited program preferred.
Senior Technical Instructor
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) or more years of relevant professional or journey level experience required (relevant experience includes experience in engineering, experienceworkingin the area of instructional focus, e.g.radiation protection or chemistryorexperience as a technical instructor in therelevantarea). In lieu of aBachelor'sdegree, a relevant
Associate's Degreeand 2additional years (7 total) or a High School Diploma and 4 additional years (9 total) of theaforementioned typesof experiences may be considered. Previous training instructor experience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training accredited program preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
