The West Platte School District is always looking for qualified substitute teachers. All prospective substitutes must submit the Substitute Teacher Application, and have a valid Missouri teaching certificate, or Missouri Substitute Certificate.
To obtain a substitute certificate, you must register on the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's (DESE) website ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). As you will learn on the website, you will be required to submit official college transcripts showing the completion of at least 60 college credit hours directly to DESE, and have your fingerprints captured for a background check through the MACHS Fingerprint Portal ()
using the West Platte registration number, 1625. You will also need to complete screening through the Missouri Family Care Registry.
If you have a current Missouri teaching certificate (any certification), you do not need a substitute certificate.
The current rate of pay for West Platte substitute teachers is $35/quarter-day; $70/half day; $140/full day; $150/long term-extended assignment.
