- Conduct theoretical and technical training classes for utility locating, providing theory, simulation, and practical applications.
- Use established training materials to present formal class training exercises and lab work to students.
- Provide training in policy, procedures in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Use established training materials to present training exercises and practice in preparing students to safely operate equipment associated with the industry.
- Provide hands‑on training in advanced applications, training, and testing preparations.
- Maintain office hours for student consultations.
- Prepare and provide course syllabi and instructional materials to students.
- Evaluate and review students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Keep appropriate records of testing and grading, as per college standards.
- Utilize technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning.
- Maintain student discipline through effective classroom management.
- Attain, maintain and review program certification requirements, as appropriate.
- Fulfill professional assignments in accordance with the South Louisiana Community College calendar and contractual obligations.
- Partner with Business and Industry to promote the Utility Locating program.
- Collectively participate and sit on craft Advisory Board.
- Actively engage and prepare for graduations and semi‑annual advisory board meetings.
Required
Education:
High School Diploma
Preferred Education: Associate Degree
ExperienceRequired Experience: Minimum of 4 years verifiable Utility Locating experience.
Preferred Experience: 2 years Utility Locating supervisor management.
Licenses or CertificationsRequired Licenses or
Certifications:
An active, unencumbered Driver's License
