Hours:
4.5 hours per day
Rate: per bargaining agreement
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work professionally with staff, students, and visitors.
- Have demonstrated professionalism through caring and positive interactions with students, coworkers, and families.
- Have successfully earned a Bachelor or Associate degree from an accredited college or university or have taken and passed the ETS para pro assessment with a score of 460 or higher.
- Regular and reliable in person attendance is an essential job function.
- Work with students to reinforce learning of materials and skills initially introduced by the classroom teacher.
- Meet and assist the teacher in developing and devising special strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on understanding of individual student needs, interests and abilities.
- Alert the classroom teacher or building administrator to any problem, or special information about an individual student.
- Administer, perform, score and record achievement of individual students.
- Assist and perform instructional and clerical duties.
- Carry out classroom instructional support and activities as directed by the teacher.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of all educational staff.
- Assist students in need of special help or services, this includes assistance to the office staff in the identification of symptoms, alerting building administration of student illness or changes in student health conditions, and assist the student in acquiring first aid.
- Contribute to positive staff and student morale.
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment which is conducive to student learning and achievement.
- Perform other duties consistent with the job goal for the benefit of the students and school and those duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building administrator.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts; ability to compute percentages and to interpret graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Personal computer skills necessary. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
