Current Openings Senior Mathematics Content & Training Specialist, K-12

Reports to: Director of K-12 Learning

Location: Remote, Louisiana

Position type: Part-Time

Summary: The Mathematics & Learning Specialist, Independent Consultant (1099) is a well‑versed expert, instructional leader, and practitioner who provides leadership in the areas of literacy or mathematics on behalf of The Center for Literacy & Learning. Reporting to the Director of Professional Learning, the Specialist serves as an active participant in delivering robust, expert‑level professional development and coaching. This position is essential to maintaining new and existing relationships forged with schools and school districts by providing virtual and onsite support for teachers and leaders, aligned with The Center’s core mission.

Consultants are scheduled on an as‑needed basis at a maximum of 20 hours per week, paid hourly at $55 per hour. We provide compensation for internal training, contract delivery, reporting, and travel mileage. The schedule is highly dependent on client demand. Professional development and support are scheduled with partners during normal school hours. Peak times of the year include August through March.

- Family Engagement Specialist

Reports to: Director of Statewide Family Engagement Center

Location: Remote, Louisiana

Position type: Full Time, Exempt

Summary: The Center for Literacy & Learning (“The Center”) seeks to fill the position of Family Engagement Specialist(“Specialist”) for the LA‑SFEC:
Advancing Meaningful Family‑School Engagement. A member of the Statewide Family Engagement Center (SFEC) team, the Family Engagement Specialist serves as a key team member and an active participant in delivering robust, expert‑level programs statewide. The Family Engagement Specialist is essential to developing a statewide family engagement framework to increase support for families and educators. The Family Engagement Specialist provides information and support to families with children in schools both related and unrelated to reading through the facilitation of workshops, hands‑on learning opportunities, parent‑focused learning, creation of digital and printable resources, and the development of educator‑focused family engagement support.

This is a federal grant supported program. One Specialist must be bilingual, Spanish‑speaking.
